How Correspondence Courses Work
Step 1. Read and study your eBook or textbook.
Begin reading Unit 1 in your book. We encourage you to take notes and highlight information to help reinforce what you are learning.
Step 2. Complete the assignments and unit quizzes.
After completing the reading for each unit, go to your account in the online portal. In the online portal, you will find assignments, supplemental resources, and your unit quizzes. You can take the quizzes as many times as you would like in order to ensure comprehension of the material. Continue reading your book and completing the assignments and quizzes in your eBook or textbook until you have completed all units.
Step 3. Take your course final exam.
When you have completed reading your book and have successfully passed all unit quizzes, you can take your final exam. The final exam consists of 60 multiple choice questions. A passing grade is 70% or better. The exam is not timed. Final exams are closed book and must be proctored. The student and the proctor will sign an affidavit prior to taking the final exam. The affidavit is to be submitted prior to taking the exam.
The following are examples of acceptable third party proctors:
• Representatives and staff of Pioneer School of Real Estate;
• Employees at official testing or learning/tutoring centers;
• Librarians at school, university, or public library;
• College or university administrators, faculty, or academic advisors;
• Clergy who are affiliated with a specific temple, synagogue, mosque, or church; and
• Educational officers of a military installation or correctional facility.
Per TREC rules, you will have up to 2 attempts to pass the final exam. If you do not pass the final exam on the first attempt, you must wait 3 days before attempting the exam again. If you do not pass the exam by the 2nd attempt you must take the course over. Pioneer does not charge additional fees to repeat the course.
Step 4. Receive your certificate.
Upon successful completion of your course and final exam you will be issued a Certificate of Completion via email.
